Screen recording during recording

During a LECTURNITY recording any application can be started and integrated into the recording by means of Screen Recording. During Screen Recording, the content of the selected area is "photographed" at regular intervals and a video clip is created from these pictures. This video clip is then shown at the appropriate time during the replay of the recording in the LECTURNITY Player resp. on the webpage.

The start of applications and the selection of the desired area can be very extensive and time-consuming if you do not start the application before the start of the recording. If you don't want to have this waiting time in your recording you can pause the recording before you start Screen Recording. Then start the application and select the desired area. Afterwards you can end the pause and continue with the recording.

There are three alternatives for selecting an area. Clicking on the desktop selects the whole screen as recording area. If you click on an application window, the recording area will automatically be adapted to this window. The third alternative is the choice of an user-defined area with the left mouse button pressed.

If the selected area did not lead to the desired result, e.g. you have selected the whole screen instead of of a specific area, you have to stop the Screen Recording recording and start it again, as you can only change the time position of the Screen Recording clip but not the size. These undesired Screen Recording recordings can be removed afterwards. If this is done with LECTURNITY, only the selected video clip is removed from the recording, the duration of this clip still remains in the recording. In order to remove a clip from a recording click on it with the right mouse button and select "Remove entry" or "Delete". If you select "Remove entry", only the entry of the Screen Recording clip will be removed from the LECTURNITY recording. "Delete" also removes the clip from the hard disc.

It is better to use the LECTURNITY Edit View for removing the clip. Unnecessary pauses can be avoided if you cut out the according time span in the document.
